About Acacia
Acacia is an integrative medicine practice in North Scottsdale, founded in 2021 by Dr. Meg Byrne, DC, and Dr. Bonnie Brock, NMD. We’re one of the few practices in the region where chiropractic, acupuncture, and naturopathic internal medicine work as one team with one patient plan. Our patients are executives, professional athletes, and active adults, and most arrive by referral from someone whose life we changed.
Dr. Byrne serves as chiropractor for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and Chicago White Sox. We hold that standard of care in every room at Acacia, from the first assessment to the way the care coordinator greets your patient by name. Nothing here is rushed, and nothing is done halfway.
Requirements
Arizona Chiropractic License
Dry needling/acupuncture license/certification through Arizona board
Description
A Path to Leadership
Acacia is growing, and we’re developing the next generation of providers to grow with it. Excellence is the standard here, in the treatment room and in how the practice runs. The doctors who hold that standard and learn how the business works are the ones we’ll trust to lead it.
What your first year looks like
You’ll be the next doctor trained to the Acacia standard. You start with a 3-month onboarding led by Dr. Byrne. You’ll learn how we assess the full musculoskeletal system, including the joint, the muscle, the fascia, and the chain above and below the complaint. You’ll also learn how we build a care plan and how we explain it so patients finish what they start. You’ll learn from a doctor who practices at the professional level, with opportunities to work alongside her.
From there, you’ll grow your own patient base with an established referral engine behind you. You’ll have the time and mentorship to keep developing as a clinician and to deliver world-class care focused on getting patients back to their goals.
The Acacia Clinical and Business Mentorship Program
Clinical skill is where your development starts. If you want to lead one day, you also need to understand how the whole business runs, and Dr. Byrne will teach you. You’ll learn:
- Clinical: advanced clinical decision-making, treatment and rehabilitation, and strength and movement programming
- Patients and community: patient communication, community workshops, and referral and community partnerships
- Business: marketing, sales, business operations, key business metrics, leadership, and practice growth
We teach this on purpose. The associate role is where you start at Acacia, and we want you ready for what comes after it.
What you’ll do
Appointments run 20 to 40 minutes, which means no rushing and no cutting corners.
- Treat patients using adjustments, soft tissue work, dry needling, and exercise prescription
- Lead new patient exams and reviews of findings that turn a first visit into a committed care plan
- Guide patients from acute injury through stabilization and into long-term maintenance
- Coordinate with Dr. Brock when a case calls for an internal medicine perspective
- Build your practice through patient retention and occasional outreach to bring in new patients
